Description:

The developer of Galerians, Incredible Crisis, and Vs. brings you a fighting game that mixes the best elements of street fighter and beatmania together.  A Beatmania-style super special move can be performed when the player's special bar is completely filled. After the bar is filled, the player simply has to press the L1 button to set off this move, and assuming the opponent doesn't block, this will set off a very cool little special attack. The screen will zoom in on the characters, and the player that's doing the move will have to time the button presses on the controller to coincide with the bars that are moving to the center of the screen, in a style very similar to Konami's timing-based Bemani games. Hitting the beats correctly will cause more damage to the opponent. And if you happen to finish off your opponent, you're treated with a whacked out little finishing move.

It is not known why THQ didn't release this game in the US.  However, a fully playable version can be enjoyed if you seek a copy from Japan.  The Japanese version of this game fetches a pretty penny on eBay.

Check out the museum's EXCLUSIVE comparison between the THQ US PROTOTYPE and the Japanese Retail versions below.  You will notice subtle differences like different options available, between match conversations, health bar, and more!  See how many differences you can point out.
